Abstract
This case discusses a 31 year old female who underwent emergent exploratory laparotomy the day after she had a cesarean delivery for decreased fetal heart tones. The delivery was complicated by large amounts of blood in the left upper quadrant with no obvious source of bleeding. The patient quickly decompensated the next day and was taken to emergent surgery under general surgery with vascular and trauma surgery who discovered active bleeding from an unknown splenic artery aneurysm. This case will discuss proper management of obstetrical hemorrhage, and etiology and treatment of splenic artery aneurysm in a pregnant patient.
