Abstract

Objectives:

• Explain the national changes and prevalence of obesity.
• Use principles and awareness of behavioral issues of patients to integrate treatments of new medications for obesity.
• Discuss all 7 of the current FDA approved medications for weight loss and how to use them.
• Discuss MACE reduction in people with CVD and overweight.
• Recall the doses and contraindications for each of the medications.
• Identify clinical applications and specific patients who will benefit from these medications
