Abstract
Our patient is a healthy 19-year-old male who presented with ongoing shoulder, back, and torso pain with accompanying numbness of the left upper extremity. Further work-up and a CT scan revealed thoracic outlet syndrome. The patient underwent a robotic-assisted thoracoscopic first rib resection and scalenectomy. Previously, patients with thoracic outlet syndrome received surgical repair through conventional rib resection. In this case presentation, we will discuss the perioperative management of those undergoing minimally invasive surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome.
